I was never an avid reader as a kid, so I have a lot of ground to make up. You’ll notice there are a lot of classics here. While this may offend, I feel like I should spend my time now reading the timeless classics (aka books other people read in school) instead of diving into something like Harry Potter. Especially since I’ve already seen the movies and now if I read them I’d just imagine the movie characters anyway. But without further adieu, the list in no particular order:
- Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
- The Three Musketeers/Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas
- Cien Años de Soledad by García Marquez
- Brave New World by Huxley
- Catch 22 by Heller
- Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky
- The Trial by Kafka
- The Autobiography of Malcolm X
- Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar)
The Pearl is a good read, nice and short as well. If you like it, consider Grapes of Wrath as well.
